Hi, I’m Andreas - the person behind REDPED.
I’ve been fascinated by technology since childhood. I started exploring PCs early on, tinkering with them and figuring out how things work. That curiosity led to my own projects - and eventually REDPED.
In 2013, I built my first e-bike using a conversion kit and even soldered the battery myself. A year later, I bought my first Bosch e-bike. I loved it - but also wanted to ride with assistance above 25 km/h. So I developed my own tuning chip as a hobby.
I had already been experimenting with Bluetooth. So combining these two interests felt like a natural fit: e-bike tuning and smartphone control. What started as a hobby gradually grew, and in 2015 I began selling tuning chips commercially.
Today, I bring my technical knowledge as a Master of Science and practical experience to the development process. My motivation has remained the same: understanding, experimenting, and developing great solutions.
At REDPED, I handle everything myself, and it’s all made in Germany. For me, development, manufacturing, and support go hand in hand. For you, that means direct communication and an English-speaking contact who developed the products themselves and knows them inside and out.
Your feedback reaches me directly, too. Because I develop the technology myself and make the decisions myself, I can respond quickly to changes and implement improvements.
