Compatibility

Only for Bosch Smart System Gen4 with spoke magnet or magnet on the brake disc.

Motor firmware: The module is compatible with all motor firmware versions.

E-bike display: The module is compatible with all displays. Also compatible if the e-bike has no display.

Important note on tuning detection: The Bosch Smart System has tuning detection for all firmware versions. Therefore, we recommend setting the maximum speed to only up to 33 km/h. However, tuning can be activated at your own risk up to 45 km/h.

Attention - NOT compatible with:
• Bosch Motor Gen5
• Rim or valve magnet
• eBikes with ABS
• Built-in Bosch Connect Module (GPS) – this must be removed!

Functions and Settings

  • Max Speed: Adjustable from 15 to 45 km/h in the RedPed app
  • Firmware Updates: Easily possible via the app
  • Actual Speed: Displayed as a decimal in the e-bike display (e.g., 33 km/h is 23.3 km/h in the e-bike display)
  • Tuning Activation: Optionally via the app, with the speed sensor magnet, or with the speed
  • Tuning Timer: Tuning automatically deactivates after a set time when stationary
  • Max Speed Restriction: Standardly set to 33 km/h due to Bosch Anti-Tuning. Can be unlocked to 45 km/h upon request
  • Boost Function: Every 10 minutes of riding, the max speed is set to 45 km/h for 1 minute (simulates a steep uphill ride). This allows 45 km/h even without permanent unlocking of the module
  • Statistics: Detailed information about tuning available directly in the app
  • Tracking: The distance travelled can be tracked in the app
